PCG Southern Tagalog welcomes newly inducted auxiliary members


BOAC, Marinduque -- The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) welcomed another batch of professionals as the newest members of the PCG's civilian volunteer arm in a ceremony held at Governor’s Hall, Provincial Capitol in Marinduque yesterday, 05 July 2023.

A total of 40 new officers of PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) 510th Squadron took oath before CG Commander Rolando C Pabillar, Commander of Coast Guard Station Marinduque who also presided the donning ceremony of inductees composed of different professional background such as Vice governor, director of congress, provincial administrators, government officials and employees, lawyers, businessmen, teachers, and media personnel.

In a message given by CG Commander Pabillar, he extended his congratulations to the newly inducted members and gave his outmost gratitude to the PCGA in maintaining its strong bond to the PCG in Southern Tagalog.

Likewise, said official exhorted that the ranks on their shoulders were accompanied with responsibilities and honor, and should be valued by exercising the five mandated functions of PCG with the highest level of excellence.

"Many people were called, but only few were chosen as this noble profession requires (everyone) to perform with integrity, respect, passion and dedication to the sworn duties and responsibilities," CG Commander Pabillar ended.

Honorable Prisbiterio J. Velasco Jr., Provincial Governor of Marinduque cited in his message the vital role of the PCG and PCGA in the implementation of shared mandates in the waters under Marinduque’s area of responsibility.

Further, Governor Velasco expressed his sincere gratitude by thanking the Coast Guard in securing every shoreline of the province with the prevailing issues of illegal fishing in the area.
